Would you like to find out more about training to teach?
The Spires College is proud to be a partner in the South West Training School Alliance (SWTSA). You can find more details about SWTSA, including information about Initial Teacher Training on their website https://www.swtsa.org.uk/618/train-to-teach or https://traintoteach-sw.co.uk/
Teaching schools provide the opportunity for all schools to learn from the very best. They have a leading role in the training and professional development of teachers, support staff and Headteachers or Principals, as well as contributing to the raising of standards through school-to-school support.
The South West Teaching School Alliance (SWTSA) was one of the first cohort of 100 schools to be designed as a Teaching School in September 2011 and is led jointly by Kingsbridge Community College and Ivybridge Community College.
SWTSA has three main aims:
- To intervene and support schools in need
- To promote high quality Initial Teacher Training (ITT)
- To develop teaching and leadership skills more generally across our network of schools.
SWSTA membership is drawn from across primary schools, secondary schools and higher education institutes in the South West.
