Learning Support Assistants

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to support students with additional needs who are under the care of our SEND department.

  • have or be prepared to have an up to date knowledge of the new SEND code of practice.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo)

We are seeking to appoint someone who is an excellent teacher, with effective leadership skills and a strong belief in inclusivity to lead our large and successful SEND Department at The Spires College.  This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to make a significant impact on children’s lives whilst developing their own leadership experience as a member of our Extended Leadership Team. 

The SEND Department at the College is large and has a positive reputation across the local area.  We host two specialist provisions and the successful candidate will have the support of a big team.  We are seeking an inspiring, intelligent and thoughtful leader to lead this team in ensuring our provision for children with SEND is the very best it can be.  Candidates will be skilled in the classroom, articulate and dedicated to bringing positive outcomes for young people in our school community.  We are happy to accept applications from teachers with any subject specialism from within the College curriculum.  The SENCo Award is desirable but not a prerequisite; the College will support the successful candidate to achieve the qualification if necessary.

  • Have proven leadership potential and the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Have an up to date knowledge of SEND Code of Practice
  • Be confident to work with a degree of autonomy whilst also being collaborative and an effective team player
  • Be a committed, highly-competent, reflective and resilient individual
  • Have a sense of humour and good interpersonal and communication skills
